AC Milan Women 1-1 Fiorentina (2-1 agg): Rossonere into the semis of the cup

AC Milan Women are through to the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia Femminile after a 1-1 draw at the PUMA House of Football against Fiorentina today, securing a 2-1 aggregate win.

A draw today was enough to send Maurizio Ganz’s side through to the semis after Milan won 2-1 at Sesto Fiorentino in the first leg. Asllani handed the Rossonere the lead from the penalty spot today, before Hammarlund equalised to get the away side back into it.

However, the second half was a much quieter affair as neither team created many chances and the Rossonere dictated possession and took few risks in order to book a place in the final four, which will be against the winners of Roma vs. Pomigliano.

The Rossonere opened the scoring on the half-hour mark as Piemonte sent a shot goalwards that struck the arm of Agard, with Asllani making no mistakes from the spot sending Baldi the wrong way. Fiorentina’s goal came before half-time as Longo’s shot was parried by Babb but Hammarlund headed home the rebound, however they were unable to find a second goal.
