After a few hours of reflection and evaluation, Milan have decided not to appeal against the two-game ban given to Bonucci after Sunday’s clash with Genoa, which was confirmed by MilanTV’s Mauro Suma and MilanNews.it.
In the 25th minute of the game, Leonardi Bonucci elbowed Genoa’s Rosi, who started bleeding heavily from his eyebrow. The referee had to take the advantage of VAR to make a decision, which in the end was a red card.
The rules in Serie A state that two yellow cards resulting in a red card should be followed up by a one-game ban. However, a straight red card is followed up by a two-game ban.
The Rossoneri have decided not to appeal against this, but instead, concentrate on the next game against Chievo, which will kick-off at 20:45 on Wednesday.
