CorSport: Centre-back could leave Lazio this summer – Milan keen on reunion 10 years on

By Oliver Fisher -

One of Lazio’s dressing room leaders is ready to leave the club at the end of the season and AC Milan are interested in him, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it) writes that Francesco Acerbi could leave Lazio after four seasons in order to try a new challenge. Despite being 34 years of age, Acerbi could remain playing in Italy and still at a high levels because Milan, Inter and Juventus are interested in him.

The player has a rather long contract, but given his circumstances he could leave for a minimal fee. Milan signed Acerbi when he was a 24-year-old from Chievo Verona and he made just 10 appearances for the club.

In January 2013, he ended his experience with the Diavolo and now 10 years later – after spells with Sassuolo and Lazio – he could yet return to San Siro. There is nothing too concrete right now though, merely an expression of interest.
