‘Could be a good fit’ – Agent endorses Milan move for Wolves star

By Oliver Fisher -

An agent has suggested that Matheus Cunha could be a good fit for AC Milan as they look for another forward after the signing of Alvaro Morata.

Milan announced the arrival of Morata last week after triggering his release clause with Atletico Madrid and signing him to a four-year deal with an option for a fifth, but it seems like he might not be the only striker to arrive.

The former footballer and current agent/intermediary Beppe Accardi was interviewed by TMW and he was asked about Milan’s call to pursue another forward, putting forward a player he believes would be a good move.

“Morata is a good striker but he has never given me the impression of being a goalscorer. He is a player who works hard for the team but doesn’t score many goals,” he said.

“Milan needs another striker, a more prolific one who can guarantee a certain number of goals. A team that has to win must necessarily have more top-level strikers. The Rossoneri will continue to move, looking for a profile with an excellent scoring streak.

“The Milan management is so prepared that they know what to do. However, if I had to name a player, Wolverhampton’s Cunha would come to mind, the Brazilian – born in ’99 – gives me the impression of being a real goalscorer. The striker for the English and Brazilian national teams gives me the impression of someone who could be a good fit for Milan.”

Cunha is 25 years of age and he played 36 games across all competitions last season, scoring 14 goals and adding eight assists. He plays either as a striker or as an attacking midfielder mostly, but has been used on the left before too.

In 56 games with Wolves he has 16 goals and nine assists, while before that he played at Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig and Hertha BSC after coming through the FC Sion academy.

  1. Nonsense link. He’ll be way out of our budget given he’s not on an expiring contract and Wolves signed him for what, €40mn from Atletico?

  2. What a load on nonsense… if you know anything about the player, he is so happy at Wolves, he has no wish to be even linked with clubs, hence why he told ManU to do one.

  3. So the agent is saying Morata (over 20 goals last season) doesn’t give him an impression of a goal scorer which I agree with to an extent nonetheless, but then a striker with 16 goals in 56 matches gives him an impression of a goal scorer? The player could be good though the agent’s point is not.

  4. 36 games across all competitions last season, scoring 14 goals. Huh??? This is you suggest to be better “goalscorer”??? Seriously???
Is he (Beppe) the agent of the player?
