The agent of Fenerbahce defender Jayden Oosterwolde has confirmed that he has had contacts with the AC Milan management, over various players.
Oosterwolde is an interesting profile given he can play both as a left-sided centre-back or as a left-back, and he began his career with local club ZAC before moving to the FC Twente youth academy in 2012.
In the summer of 2020 he did trials at both Heracles and FC Twente in the Netherlands and both clubs wanted to sign him but he chose the latter, eventually joining their first team.
Back in 31 January 2022, Oosterwolde signed with Parma in Italy on loan with an obligation to buy, then a year ago he signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Turkish side Fenerbahçe for a reported fee of €6m (via Wiki).
Jose Blakborn – the agent of Oosterwolde among others – spoke on Radio Crc during the program ‘Si Gonfia la Rete’ regarding the future of his client amid the links with a move to Italy.
“He is a modern defender who also played for Parma so you have already seen him in Italy. He is extremely physically strong and very fast,” he began.
“He played as a left-back with great attacking propensity even a little higher up than the four-man defensive line so he has drive, strength and quality.
“Napoli? No, at the moment there are no negotiations with Napoli. I can’t know if Napoli is interested in Jayden, but if the club called it would be an interesting solution for me, for the boy and I think also for Fenerbahce in the future to sell him.
“But at the moment we are talking about a negotiation that doesn’t exist. There are no talks underway, but Oosterwolde would like to play in the blue shirt, for at least three reasons.
“[Firstly] He knows Italy, he loved it when he played in Parma and he would go back. Then, he considers Napoli to be a great club and finally, he is someone who puts his heart and passion into it and would identify well in a place like Naples.
“So, he would rush to Napoli, but at the moment there is no discussion underway. I am obviously in close contact with Fenerbahce who showed me three paths for my client.
“There is a Spanish path, an English one in addition to that of staying here so even his current club has never talked about a contact with Napoli, because as I say at the moment there is nothing.
“Contacts with Milan? Yes, I have because I assist many players, including at Milan. The Rossoneri know Oosterwolde, they know that I manage him, but even in this case, at the moment there is no specific live interest from Milan. We’re not talking about him.”
