Agent of Milan-linked midfielder says there is ‘no hurry’ and a deal ‘won’t be cheap’

The agent of Empoli midfielder Tommaso Baldanzi has suggested a deal will not happen too quickly for the player and he will not be moving for a small fee.

Speaking whilst at the Golden Boy award which is organised by Tuttosport (via Calciomercato.com), Federico Pastorello took questions about the Empoli star who has been a key part of their team this season.

Pastorelli expressed pride at Baldanzi being invited to the awards and also talked about how ready Empoli are to give young players a chance.

“Among the Golden Boy’s best 100 youngsters? There is a lot of satisfaction, it is a reward for the season he has had, for the sacrifices and maturity he has shown. I would also like to thank his family because they helped him in the right way without ever being cumbersome, and also Empoli because in my opinion they are the first club in Italy to give young Italians a chance,” Pastorello said.

He was also asked about the interest from AC Milan and Napoli in the attacking midfielder, to which he explained that there is no serious rush as far as he is concerned to make sure the player gets a move.

“We are in no particular hurry, he has recently renewed, he is only 19 years old and the fact of staying a further year at Empoli to consolidate can also be an opportunity to be considered. Then it is obvious that the market’s attentions are nice, but in managing a boy like that we must be careful not to make mistakes by being in too much of a hurry. We must eventually choose the right step and the right project, the tactical aspect will be decisive for any teams that will be interested,” Pastorello explained.

When asked about the method that any potential transfer could be done with, Pastorello mentioned that Baldanzi is not going to be a cheap signing.

“These things are seen less and less lately, because the financial possibilities of the big clubs are not what they used to be. And considering that Baldanzi’s transfer won’t be cheap, I think it’s unlikely that this strategy will happen,” he said.

  1. this deal is gone then. plus he’s far too italian to come here, we hate that country here at milan these days.

  2. so a player in a mid/low part of the table has a good season (or half) and now he won’t go cheap? trolololololol Pastorello knows his business but please let’s not get carried away… it is a 19 years old kid

  3. Falls well within RedBird parameters. Can we snatch him quickly? Would be a great signing and a boost in the number of Italians in the club.
