Agent of Arsenal outcast Mesut Ozil refuses to rule out Italy move amid Milan links: “Why not?”

By Oliver Fisher -

The agent of Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has refused to rule out the possibility of a move to Serie A for his client in the future.

Ozil arrived at Arsenal seven years ago from Real Madrid and has amassed 44 goals and 77 assists in 254 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners, but the club are not considering renewing his €385k-a-week contract, and as per the Daily Mail.

He has been completely frozen out of the club’s plans by manager Mikel Arteta despite Arsenal’s start to the season, which sees them battling relegation rather than fighting for a European spot.

His agent Erkut Sogut spoke to TMW about the future of his client, and with Milan having been linked in October he made an interesting comment on a potential move to Italy.

“Of course, there are many clubs interested in him. That has never changed but neither has his willingness to honour his contract and play again,” he said.

“He’s a man of his word, loyal, and loyalty is hard to find in these times.”

When asked about playing for a top club in Serie A such as Juventus, Inter or AC Milan, he responded: “Maybe one day, why not? Serie A is a great league and I am sure that these teams could benefit from Mesut Ozil’s skills.

“He is a pure number 10, many Italian clubs play with a player in that role. However, I repeat, he is totally concentrating on his training with the club and at home, on charity and his business off the pitch.

“He is not thinking of any other club other than the one he is now under contract with.”
