The agent of Swiss defender Becir Omeragic – Christoph Graf – has confirmed that he has held talks with AC Milan regarding his client.
A report emerged from Sky Italia on Friday stating that Milan are closing in on the signing of the FC Zurich central defender, who has already made 11 appearances this season in all competitions.
Omeragic has established himself firmly in the Switzerland U19 national team, and the report stated that the Rossoneri are ready to close a deal for the 17-year-old, who can also play at right-back.
Now, the player’s agent Christoph Graf has confirmed during an interview with Calciomercato.it that Milan are interested in his client and that early talks have been held.
“There have been contacts with Milan,” he said.
“Omeragic is interested in playing in Serie A one day, but in any case it is still very early.”
It is a signing that would fit well with the ethos that the Rossoneri’s owners Elliott Management have tried to instil, one based around signing young players with high potential and developing them.
However, given yesterday’s 5-0 capitulation against Atalanta, there will also be question marks about whether experienced profiles are more urgently required.
