The agents of Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin have offered their client to AC Milan, according to a report.
Gianluca Di Marzio reported live on Sky (via MilanNews) last night that the latest name proposed to the Rossoneri management is Saint-Maximin, a player who is currently struggling for playing time at Newcastle United given the emergence of Miguel Almiron and Joelinton.
The Frenchman’s agents have offered their client to Milan, who are big admirers of the 25-year-old and what he could bring. The operation could be a loan with option to buy which would be set above €30m.
However, that amount could be prohibitive to Milan in terms of making it a permanent deal in the summer, so the plan for Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara at the moment is to only close the operation if they do not get Nicolo Zaniolo and if the English club lower their demands at the same time.
Wasn’t the whole point of being sold to Redbird was that we’d actually have $$ to spend on some players and were no longer under the cost conscious reins of Elliott? Seems we are still always waiting for another club or player to take a pay cut to join us lol. Unfortunately we are not the Milan of old and this isn’t the early 2000’s. Players want to get paid. Further, A club like Newcastle doesn’t need money – they have plenty of that “dirty” oil money that some donkeys on this forum didn’t want lol. Would be nice to have it now wouldn’t it????? But instead we have to sign young unproven players like this past summer and/or chase players with injury history (Zaniolo) in hopes they can turn their careers around or players that are on or soon to be expiring deals…..Wonderful. So a Zaniolo type is unforthcoming best we can get. Does anyone really believe we will spend 40M on St Max? Sure. Best we can hope for is Redbird builds us a new stadium then sells to I don’t know….perhaps a rich Arab owner?? Just a thought.
I’d be happier taking ASM from Newcastle anyway, but that won’t happen either.
It’s going to be a tough fight to achieve CL football next year. Sunday is a big day for us…
