The AC Milan squad are hard at work at Milanello to prepare for a potentially tricky trip to the capital to face Lazio at the weekend.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) reports this morning, the team continued preparing for the upcoming away match against Lazio during yesterday’s session. The good news is that only two players are unavailable: Matteo Gabbia and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Santiago Gimenez trained with the rest of the squad, though he must regain his match fitness after the ankle injury (and subsequent surgery) that has kept him out since late October, meaning he might not make the bench.

Allegri’s expected choices

Massimiliano Allegri’s choices are almost complete. The defence is basically obligatory with Gabbia out: Fikayo Tomori, Koni De Winter and Strahinja Pavlovic will continue to be the three central defenders after the derby clean sheet.

Two doubts remain in midfield and on the flanks. Samuele Ricci is well ahead of Ardon Jashari in the battle to replace Adrien Rabiot, who was suspended for a match by the Sporting Judge after being booked in the derby against Inter.

One the left, Davide Bartesaghi has now fully recovered, but Pervis Estupinan is the star of the week, boosted by the enthusiasm of Sunday night’s winning goal. So, Allegri must decide whether to give him another game.

In attack, Allegri should on Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao. Pulisic hasn’t scored since the end of December 2025, Rafa performed better against Parma and Cremonese than against Inter. Christopher Nkunku and Niclas Füllkrug should once again be impact subs.
