It was announced on Friday that AC Milan have hired Massimiliano Allegri as their new head coach, and now planning can fully begin for a big summer.
Allegri was in charge at Milan from 2010 to 2014, winning a Scudetto and the Supercoppa Italiana in his first two seasons and ending Inter’s run of dominance. His time ended after a 4-3 defeat to Sassuolo in the 2013-14 season, with Domenico Berardi getting all four goals.
Now he is back at the club 11 years later, and it was thanks to the quick work of Igli Tare, Giorgio Furlani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. They were able to overcome competition from Napoli with a strong pitch to Allegri.
How Allegri’s Milan could look
With the official announcement having only arrived a few hours ago, we can obviously only talk about initial hypotheses of how the team might line up.
In between there will be the summer window and experiments on the field, but as of today there are two possible solutions that Allegri will adopt in his second experience at Milan.
The season just archived ended with Sergio Conceiçao’s three-man defence, but the former Juventus coach should start again with the four-man defence, according to Sky.
The first option includes a 4-3-3, with a central defensive pairing composed of Gabbia and Tomori, while Loftus-Cheek returns in the role of mezzala. At the centre of the attack there will be Gimenez, with Pulisic and Leao on the sides.
The second idea is a 4-2-3-1. Still a four-man defence, therefore, but with Pavlovic as a centre-back for a more physical midfield with the inclusion of Musah alongside Fofana.
The leader of the attack would still be Gimenez, supported by the trident with Rejinders as attacking midfielder, given the 15 goals with which he closed the season.
Of course, these are only ideas with the current group of players. The loss of Tijjani Reijndes, for example, would force Allegri to rethink his plans.
This has to be sarcasm. If you actually expect us to play a 433 with tomori at CB, Jimenez at RB, and RLC or musah in midfield, you must assume we’re fine finishing midtable again this year. That lineup is gonna get run thru like a dollar store hooker…
Your describing last years team with Jimenez instead of Calabria. They came second. They beat psg with those guys starting , should have beat Dortmund, beat Newcastle, Rennes etc etc …
Tomori is fine as he played well before and has lacked game time recently but Jiminez and RLC is unacceptable. We should get Ricci regardless of what happens to tiji and definitly get a new RB, could be a scudetto squad if that happens but I doubt it.
It’s waaay to early to be even thinking about formation and players. Max just arrived, mercato is still closed and we definitely won’t be seeing some of these players come next season.
I hope
Yup 💯
everytime Reijnders played as CAM he was garbage he is a box-to-box midfielder who likes making runs from deep, not a CAM
Why do you hate Tijjani so much buddy? Not even Seedorf has scored 15 goals for us from midfield in any season, even when he was playing with Kaka behind Inzaghi. His production has been great both in attacking midfield and as a Mezzala, if he has a weakness it was playing in the pivot with subpar teammates like Musah.
Musah and reijnders haven’t lost a game when starting in the pivot together and reijnders has had plenty of solid performances. Wins vs Newcastle, psg, Dortmund tie that really should have been a win, Rennes. only Parma game but it was tied when Fofana made his debut.
Boulden do you yell at your mom too are you made she won’t let you order McDonalds. You are a fake fan
This is not a hot take…he likes to have momentum. It’s like saying that just because Theo is a good offensive player he should play as a 10 or winger…full backs and pivots can be good on offense and more comfortable making plays from certain areas playing off certain players. That said, an attacking pivot and attacking fullback that likes to invert and a winger who likes to invert creates some traffic jams
Allegri will most likely use 4231 with 2 defensive minded midfielders Or 352 with Leao as a 2nd striker with Gimenez similar to Lautaro and Thuram play at Inter.
Inter just used the winning 3-4-2-1 formation and napoli used the winning 4-3-3 formation last match
3-5-2 is great , imagine Leao like second striker with Gimenez , for me it’s okey , but also play like 3-4-1-2 where AMD is Pulisic is also great idea. It’s defensive formation and ideal for our Attack
You can tell that formation to PSG last match.
Leao is garbage anywhere else but the wing.
He would never get space to run at when playing centrally, plus he has no close control to dribble past his marker without out-running them.
4-3-3 or 3-4-3 way to go if we truly think of building around Leao.
If he plays the same line up/formation, then you can start crying under the pillow.
These bunch of idi*ts have got their mind infested with that scheme for years!
To make it short: they will play exactly as sh*t as we watch in recent seasons. Exactly the same habit of back pass to maignan, getting him involved in the name of the art of possesion football just to hide how clueless they are!
Prove me wrong.
But i see where we sit next season.
Nah, forget to write this:
There is now way you can overwrite “their 4231” with the another 4231 again!
Your new file will be corrupted in just a matter of weeks. We can see how it ends.
Change formation
Sell leao
Sell theo
Next season is the best season to restart everything.
Could be easily 4-3-1-2 with Leap as second striker and Pulisic as Trequartista. Allegri has always liked to put players with winger qualities in these roles.
Any formation with Reijnders in it….. fair to say that’s complete fantasy.
Musah can play with the Futuro in Serie D, he belongs no where near the first team. Also, Fofana was extremely disappointing, I think it would be wise to upgrade.
It’s evident non of these midfield sets work. We need midfield overhaul.
Maybe not the right forum…but Inter were taken to school tonight by PSG. Wow, what a totally dominant performance by the French side. They completely out-classed Inter. Congrats PSG, too bad Inter…at least you made it to the final.
It’s highly unlikely Reijdners will be with Milan next season with him already accepting a move to Manchester City with only a transfer fee waiting for approval. Theo Hernandez is also looking doubtful. Milan needs players in every position to replace those going out and those who are not starter quality. This would be the best time for Milan owners to spend big. That’s doubtful.
What does Hernandez’s market look like? He’s not going to Saudi Arabia in a World Cup year, so….. Madrid he’d be an upgrade but a risk, Man Utd definitely need a LB but are a basket case, Liverpool could actually benefit from him but it doesn’t seem they’ll have much money left after Wirtz…… Bayern, Chelsea, Man City have no need.
Milan missing players in two important positions.
1. RB – Issue started with Calabria’s decline
2. DLP is missing, After Tonali’s sale and Bennacer’s injury we don’t have a proper replacement.
Sell Reiji and buy Rovella and Comuzzo and we should be fine.
When you have seen it does not work we are going to try the same nonsense again? It’s clear that a 3 man defense is much better with our current group. Madness is putting the players through the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
I think ricci is the missing puzzle in our team
We need to sacrifice just 2 – 3 players to relaunch this team
Number 1
Leao, bacerlona need this guy with player plus cash femine Lopez or faran Torres,we need this deal
I will like to see Spanish and Italian midfield per
in milan ,
Keep adile and benacer
Sign chiesa
Then reidjnad
Just signe ricci and rovella
And a centra back
Calafioli
Loeani
Hien of Atlanta
We don’t need right backs,we have them already
Jiminez
We don’t need to waste money
All deals should be player plus cash to lower the cost ,we have many on loan
Musah as a starter????? LOLOLOLOLOLO🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Leao as second striker?! Many have tried, many have failed..
Sell before it’s too late…
