Massimiliano Allegri remains a candidate to take over as AC Milan head coach, and he has reportedly told friends that he wants the job.

According to Calciomercato.com, the new Milan is ‘taking shape’ with the aim of immediately becoming competitive for the title. Things are moving slowly but the strategy seems to be quite clear: the idea is to create an Italian base. From the sporting director to the coach, including the players.

Giorgio Furlani is directing the operations of a team that will see Geoffrey Moncada and Zlatan Ibrahimovic remain very central, but in different roles. Furlani has reiterated a concept several times in his latest outings in front of the cameras: Milan wants to win.

To do so, they need to rely on a coach who knows how to do it, especially in Italy. Allegri won a Scudetto and a Supercoppa Italiana with Milan and five Scudetti with Juventus in addition to the record of five Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiani.

This list of titles makes him one of the best Italian coaches of all time, and the Rossoneri need a coach who knows how to handle pressure. They must also act as a glue between a management that is still inexperienced and a squad that is complicated to manage. Allegri has already shown he can do this in his career.

His style of play could enhance the characteristics of the current squad, meaning that there would be no need for a revolution that could cost a lot in terms of summer spending. There is an emotional aspect that can make the difference: Milan’s desire for revenge is the same as Allegri’s.

Allegri is waiting for a call that hasn’t arrived yet, but he has confided to his friends that he wants to return to the Rossoneri. He hasn’t missed a Milan game for the in months, he is studying measures and possible new ideas.

His name, like that of Vincenzo Italiano, has often ended up in discussions between Furlani and the various candidates for the role of sporting director, an unmistakable sign of how they are evaluating the grand return of Max.

    1. It depends on the nature of the club problems. In different environment yes, but in Milan with defensive midfielders and fullbacks who cant defend every skilled, trusted defensive coach would be a guarantee of improvement.

  1. ACM havent italians that are to shines in first and subs, By me needs italian coach no matter name in changing, to me current coach deserves full seas and 1 week even more
    Imo

  2. I’m all for Allegi for the above mentioned reasons.
    Does he play boring? Yes
    Does he win? Yes.

I’m also thrilled our competent management finally have realised the red for an Italian core, years after they fired Maldini and M. Imagine if those two could have build on the success?

  3. The bar is low that’s true, but nobody wants a job within such a management structure – an invisible boss with big ego, *cough cough*, Ibr, and no saying in squad selection.

  4. The stupidest person who can think that Allegri is a good option, I was asked, why since we brought Conceicao, we won the Super Cup, from tomorrow all the media even Sempre Milan turned against the club and kept making rumors that Milan want to bring in a new coach at the end of the season?!!! How can a team that beats two big teams become champions and then ask them to change the coach, it’s funny, a joke. I’m sorry for this site and the people who stupidly think that changing the coach will solve the problem, but we are going the way Manchester United went, the lack of coordination of the coach’s thoughts with the players. This coach has just contacted the players, the most ridiculous thing possible is to ask them to change him at the end of the season.
