Another COVID case at Inter but derby postponement still remains unlikely – the latest

There has been yet another positive Coronavirus test at Inter, but next weekend’s derby still does not appear to be at risk.

For Milan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Leo Duarte tested positive for Coronavirus two weeks ago and the former has just recovered, while for Inter defensive duo Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar are now positive, as are midfield pair Roberto Gagliardini and Radja Nainggolan.

Milan were dealt yet another blow as Gabbia tested positive for Coronavirus while away with on international duty with Italy’s U21 side.

Meanwhile, Inter’s back-up goalkeeper Andrei Radu has also tested positive, bringing the total number of cases across the two teams to eight.

Now, there has been a ninth case recorded as Inter full-back Ashley Young has become the latest to test positive, and he is now isolating at home, almost certain to miss the game.

However, league rules state that Inter can only request that the game be postponed if there are 10 positive cases on seven consecutive days. The first for case was Bastoni back on October 7.
