The AC Milan Small Shareholders Alliance have published a statement welcoming RedBird Capital as the new owners of the club.

A statement on the club’s official website confirmed that RedBird are the new owners of the club, completing the takeover from fellow American fund Elliott Management in a deal that is worth €1.2bn and sees Gerry Cardinale become the face of the club moving forward.

Now, the Association of Small Shareholders (APA Milan) have given their thoughts on the takeover, welcoming the conclusion of the acquisition of the Rossoneri club by Redbird who they believe will lead the club forward.

They published a statement via their official channels revealing their excitement over the future of the club, with their words relayed by SempreMilan.it.

“APA Milan believes it shares the vision illustrated by Redbird’s Founder and Managing Partner Gerry Cardinale and the intention to continue investing in all key areas for the promotion of the club’s sporting and commercial interests.”

Auro Palomba, President of APA Milan, declared: “As mentioned, for 123 years Milan has been synonymous with football at the highest level and APA Milan can only look favourably on all the entrepreneurial initiatives aimed at the success of the beloved Rossoneri club.

“With the same approach we had with the Elliott fund, we guarantee from now on the same spirit of collaboration and construction that has always distinguished us in the sole interest of AC Milan SpA. with the members of the board of directors also in view of the shareholders’ meeting that will kick off the new course.

“I would also like to thank the previous majority shareholder, the Elliott fund, as well as the Singer family and all the management of AC Milan SpA who, with an extraordinary effort started in 2018 and with important effective work on the sporting and financial front, have brought the club to win the Scudetto; in this sense we believe that we have made our contribution and we will continue to give it with sincere confidence regarding the continuation of a virtuous path that will see Milan at the top of world football with the ambition to win.”
