CM: Milan target Asensio changes agents with Tottenham joining transfer race

By Mitchell Wilks -

Marco Asensio has changed agents in order to facilitate his exit from Real Madrid this summer, with Tottenham joining the race to sign the Spaniard, according to a report.

Asensio has fallen out of favour in Madrid and is expected to leave the club in summer after eight years, with Milan and Arsenal showing interest in his services.

Calciomercato.com report that Tottenham have now put their name in the hat for the 26-year-old, who is now being represented by Portuguese super-agent Jorge Mendes.

Mendes represents Rafael Leao among many others, and is expected to provide Asensio with a number of options in the summer.

Any potential approach from Milan could hinge on their ownership status as negotiations between Investcorp and Elliott Management continue, while Arsenal also remain keen on the Spaniard.

Asensio has been capped 25 times by Spain but has struggled to stay at football’s top level in recent seasons.
