AC Milan are unlikely to sign Marco Asensio from Real Madrid as things stand currently but the situation hinges on one factor, a report claims.
According to MilanNews, the Rossoneri are aware that Asensio has a good chance of leaving the Spanish capital this summer as has only one year left on his contract, and the Milan management have had talks with the Spaniard’s agents over a potential switch to try a new experience in Italy.
Technical director Paolo Maldini likes the 26-year-old very much but there are two obstacles at the moment which he must find a solution to. The first is the player’s salary, because Asensio is asking for about €7m net per season to make the move.
The second hurdle is the very strong competition from Premier League clubs which ultimately means that any chance of the operation going through depends on the player. If he were to choose Milan’s project he will be the star, otherwise he will go where he can earn more.
