CM: Aston Villa waiting for Chukwuemeka’s answer with Milan and Dortmund watching

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking on with interest as Aston Villa expect to resolve the future of young talent Carney Chukwuemeka, a report claims.

Villa finished their preseason tour in Australia on Saturday, drawing 2-2 in Perth against Manchester United, and have already returned to England to continue their preparations for their Premier League season opener on 6 August against Bournemouth.

According to Calciomercato.com, who also cite information from FootballInsider, an extension offer is on the table to Chukwuemeka but the 18-year-old midfielder has not accepted it for the moment. He is asking for £100k per week gross to sign.

Borussia Dortmund have long had Chukwuemeka’s name on their list but at the moment they consider the €20m asking price of Villa to be too high. In the event he does not renew, the Premier League side risk having to lower their demands in order not to lose the teenager for nothing next year.

Aston Villa would in fact only get around €400-500k if his deal were to run out and he were to move elsewhere as that is the amount that FIFA compensation dictates.

What about Milan? Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara remain at the window for the moment, they are talking with the player’s agent, and a possible offer of €10m could be considered once the Charles De Ketelaere saga is resolved.
