For some time, Olivier Giroud’s chapter at AC Milan has looked like it will end at the end of the 2023-24 season, and a recent report has suggested that his future might be looking more likely to be away from the club.
Milan and Giroud have spoken about a new deal and the terms needed for both parties to be happy to continue together, and recently, a report suggested that the Rossoneri favoured a deal that saw the Frenchman remain at the club with heavily reduced playing time – which aligns with their hunt for a new number nine.
However, the veteran striker would prefer to continue in his current role, given he still feels able to hold a significant role within the squad.
Alongside the Frenchman’s talks with the club, though, there have been reports of Giroud’s desire to explore a future away from Milan once his contract ended, with America being a favoured destination for him.
Today, The Athletic have reported that the Frenchman is in ‘advanced talks’ with LAFC about a potential deal when his current contract with the Diavolo expires. However, the report stated that no deal is imminent, with Giroud preferring to keep his options open until the end of the season.
