GdS: Man Utd open to loaning defender but Milan want to negotiate on formula

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are still looking to add a defender between now and the end of the season with a deal for Manchester United’s Eric Bailly seemingly on stand-by.

According to what is being reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) this morning, the Red Devils have opened to a loan deal for Bailly given that he does not seem to be a big part of the plans of new head coach Ralf Rangnick, but there are a couple of obstacles.

The first is that Bailly is engaged with the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations meaning that he wouldn’t be available until potentially February if they go on a run deep into the competition, missing Milan’s crucial games against Juventus and Inter.

The other hurdle is that Milan want an option to buy inserting into the deal too and at the moment United have not yet opened to that idea.
