Barcelona beat Juventus and AC Milan to signing of €30m Portugal starlet

FC Barcelona have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with SC Braga for the signing of forward Francisco Trincao.

The 20-year-old will join the Catalan giants in the summer, and according to the latest reports from ESPN they will pay around €30million for the Portugal U21 international.

According to Calciomercato.com reporter Daniele Longo, Barca have actually beaten competition from three Serie A sides in order to land the deal. He claims that Juventus, Milan and Atalanta were all interested.

This stacks up with reports last week that surfaced after Trincao’s agent Bruno Carvalho was seen entering Casa Milan for a meeting with the club’s hierarchy.

Primarily a winger, Trincao has made 22 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three goals including one in the Europa League as Braga progressed from their group.

The ESPN report adds that their first choice targets Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Rodrigo Moreno were too expensive, while in the summer they will decide whether a move for Lautaro Martinez and/or Neymar are possible.
