BBC: Milan make contact for departing Liverpool forward

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan have made the first contact to try and sign departing Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino on a free transfer this summer, a report claims.

As has been reported by the BBC (via Twitter) in the United Kingdom, the Rossoneri think that Firmino would be a good addition to the team.

The Brazilian forward has been at Liverpool for almost a decade and has been an important player throughout, but he will be leaving when his contract expires at the end of June.

Many teams have been linked with him due to his undoubted quality, and Milan have begun the work to convince him that the San Siro should be his next destination.

He is not the only Premier League player that Milan are trying to sign, with Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek also being a very serious target.

Firmino is one of a number of free transfers Milan are being linked with.

  1. Surely he’ll want an absolute fortune, I think his next club is already agreed. Would be perfect foil for Leao but I think it’s unlikely to happen.

    1. This guy is Brazilian…not Belgian. And Milan usually fit with player from south american. Except his salary is maybe high…im beliving in this guy..

    2. Firmino is much better than Origi. Firmino had his starting place in Liverpool with Salah and Mane and he was also good in H. Berlin when he played there. Origi had never been a starting player in Liverpool he was 4th choice and scored only 22 goals there in 8 years. While Firmino has 81 goals also in 8 years. There is big difference in quality in those two players.

  2. He’s on the wrong side of 30 and won’t come cheap. Focus instead on younger, more reasonably priced options.

  3. I honestly believe he would be great fit for us, lift our squad level up and would be a great example for CDK and other youngsters, you need to strike a balance between young players and experience even moreso with IBRA leaving
