Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has revealed that it took him only 5 minutes to accept a move to AC Milan last month.

With Pepe Reina moving on a loan to Aston Villa until the end of the season, the Rossoneri moved swiftly to secure a new back-up to Gianluigi Donnarumma in the form of Begovic.

The Bournemouth man has joined on a six-month loan deal with no option to buy, and at 32 he will add valuable experience to the group.

He is yet to make an appearances for the senior side, but nonetheless the 32-year-old is enjoying his experience at Milan already.

Interviewed by the BBC, Begovic spoke about his arrival at San Siro and the relationship with his new team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic, also of Bosnian heritage.

“How long did it take me to say yes to Milan? I decided in 5 minutes. I had many options, but then came the call from Milan,” he said (via MilanNews.it).

“I had the chance to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world. When this opportunity came I immediately took it. Milan are a very young team that needs leadership and experience. I am here to give my contribution both on and off the pitch.

“Ibra? He brought his leadership in the group. He is a fantastic boy, a great professional. He is an example for everyone, he pushes everyone to give their best.”
