CM: Bennacer wants Milan to increase their contract offer before signing

By Euan Burns -

Algerian midfielder Ismael Bennacer wants AC Milan to increase their contract offer by another €1 million before he accepts the deal and stays, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, there is an offer on the table for Bennacer to renew his contract and be paid €3 million per season. The midfielder does not want to accept that figure though and would like at least €4 million.

He currently earns €1.7 million per season but is a much more important player than when he first signed that deal. There is also a lot of interest in him from wealthy sides which improves his bargaining position.

It is reported that both Manchester United and Liverpool in the Premier League were very keen on signing him last summer but Milan were not concerned as the €50 million release clause had expired, so a deal would need to be done.

Bennacer recently changed agents to join Enzo Raiola, the cousin of the late Mino Raiola.

  1. Milan must change wage policies and pay best shown players on the pitch more. Players that dont show best of the game should have paid for less.

    1. Can’t change wage policy if Milan still poor as fvck. Milan doesn’t even own a stadium that can generate 100 million /year since San Siro is a rent and they must cut the revenue for city authority.

    1. I agree, 4m for an important first team player is a no brainer, we got players like Bakayoko and Dest earning close to that amount and they play much fewer minutes or any at all :Þ

  2. If this is true, then Bennacer should absolutely demand to leave even as early as January .
Maldini gave Florenzi, 30+ year old back up who is guaranteed to miss a third or half of every season, 3 mil a year, same money he is offering one of the most important players in the team who is only going to get better.
Just for comparison, Bricks for feet Rebic makes 3.5 mil.
    Origi makes 4.
So, who is insulting these players with the lowball offers to a point that they want to leave the club on a free transfer, the ownership or the “great negotiator” Maldini 🤔

    1. Not saying Bennacer doesn’t deserve 4 million. But Origi was a free transfer and he came to Milan as an EPL, Champions League, Super Cup, and Club World Cup winner. 4 million is fair despite his meh performance in Milan.

  3. If we cannot pay 4M for our starting mid we are doomed. May as well just start selling all of our young talent. Horrible signal to the fans to start selling your “core” players before they even hit their primes and before we actually build a consistent winning team. Basically we will remain a feeder club. Terrible
