AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer has admitted that he is missing the pitch already but he is doing all he can to stay strong as he recovers from a serious injury.
The Algerian decided to entertain fans with a question-and-answer session on his Twitter account and one fan asked him how he is getting on from a psychological perspective.
The midfielder responded by explaining that he is already wishing he was back on the pitch. His response read: “I miss the pitch but I always stay strong mentally.”
Bennacer went off injured in the Champions League final second leg against Inter with a knee injury and it has emerged that he will actually be undergoing arthroscopy surgery.
That is why his season is certainly over and it cannot even be guaranteed that he will be back to take part in pre-season, which will impact his start to the 2023/24 campaign.
Bennacer had just been playing in a more offensive role for Stefano Pioli.
