MN: Bennacer wants same pay as Milan star to renew – what the change in agent means

By Oliver Fisher -

Ismael Bennacer’s decision to change agent should not be an immediate cause of concern for AC Milan fans, according to a journalist.

In his latest column for MilanNews, Pietro Mazzara writes that the transition of power of attorney over Bennacer from Moussa Sissoko to Enzo Raiola is ‘completely irrelevant’ with regards to the player’s will.

Ultimately, the agent does what his client wants and there are cases – such as Pierre Kalulu – where players have changed representative and renewed, perhaps in order to facilitate an easier contract extension.

Mazzara adds that Bennacer has always felt that he is worth as much as Theo Hernandez on an economic level, so if wanted that money with Moussa Sissoko looking after his interests, he will also ask for that amount with Enzo Raiola in charge.

Interestingly, the journalist mentions that Sissoko was looking to take Bennacer away from Milan, further fuelling the theory that a desire to renew could be behind the decision.

    1. I think Bennacer is worth that amount. Realistically 4 mil is not an obscene price for him. Theo on the other hand is worth a lot more than that. We got lucky to be able to keep him for what we did.

    2. Why not?.. because he not european, less physical, older?.. but he is our engine, who else can play as good as him in our current squad?.. i think he deserve 4 mil..

  1. idk what the big deal is about? give him the money, he is not asking for much imao. He was/is playing for 1.5M ffs, we have been underpaying him since he came

      1. you say that but people in charge of Milan thought he was and so he came and he was, if you admit it or not, very good for Milan so far. so yeah…
