GdS: Bennacer’s renewal expected before end of 2022 – the details of the new agreement

By Oliver Fisher -

The renewal of Ismael Bennacer is reportedly getting closer as the signing could in fact arrive before the end of the year, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) talks about how Theo Hernandez, Fikayo Tomori, Sandro Tonali and most recently Pierre Kalulu all put pen to paper on new contracts in 2022 and the management are also working on Bennacer too, whose current contract expires in 2024.

This extension has been discussed for weeks and there have been delicate moments, but now an agreement seems to be one step away. A general agreement has been found, so much so that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are confident that Bennacer’s signature could occur by the end of 2022.

The Algerian midfielder should renew until 2027 with a pay rise from the current €1.5m net per season, with the new agreement instead guaranteeing him a salary of €4m per year plus bonuses.

The current contract also includes a 50 million release clause, exercisable only in the summer and exclusively in the early part of the transfer window, and it is yet to be seen whether this clause will be kept or whether it will be raised or even eliminated in the new deal.
