Beppe Sala says Milan and Inter ‘don’t want to hear about’ fixing San Siro

Mayor of Milan Beppe Sala has said that both Inter and AC Milan do not want to hear about his plans to restructure the existing San Siro stadium.

Speaking during the ceremony for the delivery of the Ambrogini d’Oro (via Calciomercato.com), Sala discussed the plans for a new stadium once the existing ground has been demolished and he had a clear criticism for the clubs.

Both Milan and Inter have been very clear that they would like to build a brand new stadium rather than just renovate the existing one as it would be much more expensive and less effective to do the latter.

Sala himself would rather that the stadium had been renovated and he stressed that the clubs do not want to hear how that can be done.

“My favourite hypothesis was and continues to be fixing the San Siro but if the teams don’t want to hear about it, I can’t. violate their rights”.

The public debate on the new stadium recently ended which means it should not be too long until the findings are presented.
