Andrea Bertolacci believes that Torino’s double strike before the break was the “slap in the face” that Milan needed.
Andrea Belotti and Marco Benassi gave il Toro a first half lead, and Gianluigi Donnarumma’s penalty save provided the catalyst for Milan to earn a point through Bertolacci and Carlos Bacca.
“We did not play like Milan in the first half, but we showed quality after the break,” Bertolacci told Mediaset Premium.
“Getting those two slaps in the face was useful, as we needed waking up. It was a very different game in the second half and it’s a pity we gifted 45 minutes.
“It was an important match, but there’s a long way to go this season. It’s up to us, but we have to do better in the first halves.”
Manuel Locatelli and Alessio Romagnoli will be suspended for AC Milan’s crucial match against Napoli on Saturday night.
