‘He feels the responsibility’ – Bianchin reveals impressions after Tare’s words

AC Milan are in for a big summer mercato, and the pressure falls on the shoulders of the newly appointed Igli Tare.

A summer at Milan is big for several reasons. However, after a year like last season, the pressure is elevated significantly. It is not a case of getting some moves right; every decision, big and small, has to be near perfect.

The Rossoneri are aiming for the top again, and the mercato actions must follow. Should they fail to do so, the already toxic landscape will only further deteriorate. In other words, the pressure on Igli Tare’s shoulders is vast.

Tare’s vision

Despite this, though, he is seemingly taking no notice of it. Instead, he remains focused on the present, rather than submitting to the mistakes of those who were before him. Now, he must build a Diavolo in his image, and this was a theme of his press conference.

We have already deconstructed his words, and so has Luca Bianchin, as MilanNews relays his words from Gazzetta dello Sport today.

“Igli Tare is a centre forward, you can see it. Physical, concrete, with his feet on the ground, firmly planted in history. He grew up in Albania cheering for the great Milan and, when he talks about the team he has in mind, he makes constant references to the club’s values: he wants to start from there.

“He played with Baggio and Guardiola and knows that champions in a dressing room make the difference: this is why his first act as sporting director was to go and get Luka Modric, a Ballon d’Or winner.

“Tare speaks to journalists in his first informal outing as a Rossoneri director and makes it clear that he feels the responsibility of being at Milan.

“He thanks “the whole club for the welcome” and says: “The glorious history of Milan gives me an enormous responsibility, to give my best and help bring the club where it deserves to be, at the top of Italian and European football”.

“The Milan he has in mind, between the lines, is clear. A Milan with Maignan and an almost completely new defence, without Theo and perhaps with Leoni as a central player with prospects. A rebuilt midfield of quality that combines dribbling and intensity.

“An attack that starts again from Leao and a new 9, who at the moment will not be Vlahovic or even Kean, far from the technical and economic identikit of the centre forward to be taken on the market.”
