The lawsuit by Zvonimir Boban against AC Milan has finally concluded today, and the results from the proceedings have been reported today.
It has been a nearly four-year ordeal between the two parties, and today it came to an end with the third and final judgement from the court. After being fired in 2020 after publically criticising the management in an interview, the former player was fired, and since then, Milan and Boban have been intertwined in legal proceedings.
Despite the longevity of the lawsuit, Boban has stated that he had to voice his concerns publically, and despite being in a legal battle against the club, he said that he does not hold any grudges, instead reaffirming his love for the Rossoneri, a love that he said does not go away.
After the conclusion of the proceedings, Calciomercato.com reported the outcomes. The first instalment of the lawsuit was won by Boban, and this saw him obtain €5.375 million compensation fee, which the Diavolo had already taken into account for their budget. In other words, no damage has been done by this outcome.
Nevertheless, the Rossoneri still found themselves winning part of the case, and they were €1.25m which was taken from the compensation fee.
Despite further appeals from both parties, the third and final judgement was reached, with neither being successful, ending the proceedings.
In total, Milan paid a total of €4.125m to Boban, and proceedings have concluded.
I wonder which part Milan won. Also I don’t know why we went through this slog. It was more than likely he would have won unless there was some specific clause barring him from conducting these sorts of interviews as a director (or maybe it was in the contract who knows). Anyways glad this is put to bed. I’ll don the lotto kit later in honour lol 😂
The fact that he won 4+ million, shows that the court believed the firing to be unjust.
I have no idea what part did Milan win… all considered we lost 4 million due to some internal management snafu from Elliot brass without even considering that we lost a director who imo was great … going after Szoboszlai and Olmo when they were still cheap.
Yep true, plus he was the one that really pushed for Leao when he was a nobody. He had a good eye for attackers as Maldini did for the defence.
