Tuttosport: Botman gives green light to summer Milan move – Maldini must now convince Lille

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not expected to make a big investment on a centre-back between now and the end of January but they are lining one up for the summer, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes that Milan could focus on the purchase of a young defender between now and the end of the month, thus postponing the big signing until the summer transfer window when there will hopefully be a bit more scope for other clubs to sell.

Sven Botman of Lille remains the number one target and the Rossoneri management are already at work to try and strike an agreement which would bring the Dutchman to Milanello in June, ahead of the 2022-23 season.

The player has given his approval to his agents for the move to Milan, and Paolo Maldini does not want to let a big opportunity slip away given the potential and quality of the 21-year-old Dutchman. It will now be up to the club to convince Lille with a concrete offer.
