Repubblica: Botman wants Milan despite Newcastle agreement plus Arsenal and Man Utd enquiry

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are facing an increasingly difficult pursuit of Sven Botman as Lille have accepted a bid from the Premier League, according to a report.

La Repubblica (via PianetaMilan) are reporting that Botman has his heart set on a move to the Rossoneri, with whom he has already reached an agreement over a five-year contract, and has up until now rejected the advances of other clubs.

However, Premier League clubs seem to have sensed an opening given that Milan have not yet closed the deal as Arsenal and Manchester United have carried out an enquiry in the last few hours as per the paper.

Not only that, but Newcastle United have apparently come forward with an offer that has been accepted by Lille, yet Botman has chosen the Serie A champions as his next destination and therefore does not want to join the Magpies.

Lille are feeling frustrated that Botman is putting up resistance, but now the pressure is on Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to put forward an offer deemed acceptable or the Dutchman might be forced to evaluate other options.

  1. If true, Haggle and jerk around for 4 months and then get the players you’re interested in signed off your hands by clubs that pay what’s being asked, new ownership, same strategy. Having said that, I personally would not sign Botman, I would eithet get Bremer or nothing and invest in other areas.
