MN: Botman remains Milan’s No.1 target – the player has been reassured as Newcastle lurk

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are continuing to pursue Sven Botman as their main target for the centre-back role despite recent rumours of difficulties, a report claims.

MilanNews confirm that Botman remains the first choice target for the defensive department as Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara made their choice six months ago and have maintained it ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Rossoneri management want to complete the operation in the coming days and there has been an agreement for some time now with the 22-year-old, but the final agreement between Milan and Lille is still missing, based on a figure of around €30m.

There are daily dialogues and the reassurances towards the player but there must be a step taken by either or both sides in order to reach an agreement over the transfer fee. In the background Newcastle United are pushing for Botman with a higher offer on the table, but the Dutchman has promised himself to Milan.

  1. Trust Maldini.
Botman is left footed as well like Romagnoli who we will no longer have.
