Repubblica: Milan plotting double summer raid on Lille to address two key areas

By Mitchell Wilks -

Milan are eyeing moves for Sven Botman and Renato Sanches this summer, in what could be a raid for two key members of Lille’s starting XI.

La Repubblica (via MilanNews) report that while a deal for either of the two appears impossible to complete in January, the Rossoneri could make Botman their first signing of the summer to bolster their defence.

Sanches has been identified as a replacement for the potentially departing Franck Kessie, and is expected to be available for between €25-30m.

Botman has been linked with a move to San Siro throughout January, with Milan keen to bring in defensive reinforcement. However, with Lille unwilling to let him go mid-season, a deal has proven too expensive to complete for now.

The 22-year-old has also been targeted by Newcastle, but a move to Milan seems more favourable. The duo would reunite with Mike Maignan in Milan, who signed last summer after winning Ligue 1.

  1. Big mistake waiting until the summer, we should get an agreement now and leave them until end of the season at the very least like we have done with Adli, if we have to start negotiating in the summer we are gonna lose out to any number of clubs.
