AC Milan will have thought they landed Archie Brown last night. However, this morning, he opted to go to Fenerbahce.
The links to Milan really took off this week, with a move from Gent looking increasingly likely. However, in typical Rossoneri fashion, it was not that simple. So, last night there was a private jet battle, as both clubs sent planes to Belgium.

‘Basically done with AC Milan’
The defender has spoken about the move, and him being ‘ready’ to join Milan; his words have been relayed exclusively by Fabrizio Romano on X, and can be seen below.
“The deal was basically done with AC Milan. I was ready to go. But then, I got a call from Fenerbahçe president overnight. That changed everything.”
“The passion he showed, the vision… it made the decision clear. I knew I had to come to Fener.”
Considering how many were dubious of the move anyways, it may not be the worst thing ever. However, there will certainly be frustration that the club have now missed out on two defensive options.
We’ve reached a time where Fenerbahçe SK can appeal to a young player more than AC Milan.
You could say they offered him more money, and that’s why he changed his mind, but that also means that whatever “project” AC Milan currently has didn’t convince him to drop the extra bucks he’ll get from Turkey.

Hedge funds’ management fees are usually several millions every year. As for the bonuses of the executives, it was reported here but I don’t remember the figures. It was outrageous, as you can guess.

He chickened out, was scared to join a big market club with his limited experience, big fish in small pond wants to progress to bigger pond(fenerbahce) where he can feel comfortable — not the ocean which is milan. Its cool, he can’t defend to save his life he stats in that regard are deplorable in Belgium, let alone a major league. Will be interesting to see how his career progresses, looks like he has potential (hence the milan interest). He was only 200k a year ago lol
