Rayan’s name has emerged as a potential target for AC Milan in the January mercato. However, a deal will not be easy.
There are several striker targets that Milan are currently considering. Whether they are possible is another thing entirely, though. For example, Jean-Philippe Mateta is a strong candidate, but €40 million in January is a big price.
Among the names of interest is Rayan, the 19-year old Brazilian starlet, who is currently playing for Vasco de Gama. His name has been mentioned fairly regularly as of late, but he would arrive at a high price.
Praise for Rayan
In fact, reports suggest that he has an €80m buy clause in his contract, but that could be lessened with Vasco’s need for finances. Speaking about the striker, who to many will be an unknown prospect, Cafu offered some information to Tuttosport and Calciomercato.com have relayed the legend’s words.
“I’m playing it safe with him. He could be a good fit for any big Italian team. Rayan is a fantastic talent. He has a lot of quality and is quick in one-on-one situations: he knows how to play football, but he also sees the goal.

“He’s only 19 and can become a truly great player. Role? Up front, with his creativity, he can play both as a centre-forward and a second striker; it depends on the coaches.”
Whether he is what is needed at the moment can certainly be debated, but he seems exciting.

A bit like moment when kaladze recommended kvara and management snubbed him.
To be fair Kaladze had suggested Kvaraskhelia for several years and we had plenty of opportunities getting him cheap. Even though the Georgian generally has been playing on the left wing I can imagine we could have utilized him on the right side under Pioli and that would have been some wings to have that would have been able to tear appart any defenses around.
Ikr, bc Kvara can play with both feet very well adding some benefit and values (remember sheva?). Opponent will be busy which flank they should guard 🙂
Absolutely. Shame it never happened as it would have been one sight to behold. Well we was also offered Haaland while he was still in Austria. FC Copenhagen from Denmark was actually offered both Haaland and Modric while the players was around the age of 16 but didn’t have any interests in them so some deals simply will be bound to slip through the net but those two players was also somewhat younger than Kvaraskhelia which clearly was a missed opportunity.
Way too exciting for Tare to consider, or for Allegri to play
Have you seen Tare’s work at Lazio, he has unearthed some real Gems, the problem isn’t Tare, it’s more a matter of whether Moncada approves or not. That’s the main issue here.
Not even Moncada. It’s Furlani. Furlani will reject this and try to sign a 26 year old from Chelsea.
Rayan is so good , so talented, a future star. We don’t have the guts, the vision to bring such a player. We play cheap because we are not a big club anymore and our ambitions are low
Milan will always remain a big club. Our place in football and history dictates that, we’re one of the best supported clubs in the country, having a big chequebook doesn’t make you a big club, do you think PSG and Man City are big clubs?
Yes
To clarify yes Man city and PSG are big clubs these days while all of Italy is fading
Even though City and PSG has grown in reputation they are not in comparison with AC Milan. They might be richer and have bigger names but if old trophies that did build up clubs reputation are of no meaning to the present then all current or future trophies are equally worthless so let me ask you this rhetorical question then what’s the point of it all then.
Well more or less they are worthless after a few years. It is the means by which the club grows its fanbase, but would you rather as a neutral fan to watch an Ajax game or a Man City game? Because history-wise there’s a lot of catching up for Man City to achieve portion of Ajax’s accolades.
I mean the history of our club is a source of pride for us, but I’d prefer to win the battle on the field, not in the club’s trophy room.
Of course we want to win presently but if old trophies doesn’t mean anything then non does that’s the entire point of mine.
Well if that is your view then let me ask you this would you trade all of our 7 previous EC/CL wins just for the taste of a new one, I certainly wouldn’t.
Yeah City has a lot to win to be compared to Ajax regardless of their current form or stature. Just because there nowadays is a corrupt system that favors epl teams and monopolizes transfers again in their favor doesn’t make them any bigger than Ajax, in fact far from it.
I would also like to add that Real Madrid didn’t win EC/CL for 32 years inbetween late 1960ies and late 90ies. Clearly the club was still at the forefront of the game. Was Aston Villa or Nothingham Forrest bigger clubs in that space of time then ? My answer is no Real Madrid just saw a time of slump but greatness is permanent the English clubs like City or Chelsea has a lot to prove if they want to be considered in the same sentence.
Milan is great club in the past & i want Milan to be great club atp + future too..
the answer is simple, TRUST! if the owner have it, then SPEND it w/ that trust,
if noname club like city/ psg can do it then Milan can do better..
do u ask to compare them to Milan?
i mean when? 20y ago or last 5y?
Unfortunately, yes City and PSG are big clubs. The definition of big club now is where the big money is. Clubs become big clubs by winning, and winning is usually achieved with money. Madrid became the world’s biggest club by reeling off five CL’s in a row in the 1950s because of the Franco dictatorship’s patronage. AC Milan was not a small club when Berlusconi took over, but it wasn’t exactly the AC Milan we think of today. Because of the money he spent, Milan won 30 trophies under his tenure, including 5 of 7 Champions League titles, 8 of 19 league titles (so 40%), all of our European Supercups, our single Fifa Club World Cup, 7 of 8 Italian Supercups, and 2 of 3 Intercontinental Cups. So the vast majority of our trophies, minus the Coppa Italia of which only 1 of 5 came during Berlusconi’s time and the two Cup Winner’s Cups, were won by Berlusconi’s millions.
Một ngôi sao tương lai. Nhưng tôi nghĩ chúng ta sẽ không đủ bản lĩnh để mua anh ta.
Cũng giống như việc chúng ta đã không mua Alvarez.
€40M too much for promising Brazilian talent (when was last time Milan signed promising Brazilian player BTW?)
But €40M good for Nkunku & Gimenez.
Got it.
Furlani Out!
Paqueta and we didn’t even use him and than sold him for pocket change
