Cafu highlights the one major problem Milan have amid faltering Scudetto quest

Former AC Milan defender Marco Cafu believes that his old side are lacking the leader they need to drag them over the line in the Scudetto race.

Milan dropped points in their last two outings and failed to score a goal as they were held to 0-0 draws by both Bologna at San Siro and Torino in Turin, which – due to Inter’s wins against Juventus and Hellas Verona – means that their title destiny is no longer in their hands.

Stefano Pioli’s men seem to have hit a mental wall and they need to recover momentum immediately on Friday when relegation-threatened Genoa come to the San Siro, but with a tough last five games the feeling is that things are now difficult.

Cafu spoke during ‘Tiki Taka’ about the Rossoneri and as someone who has been there before and knows how to win, he highlighted one major flaw that is making the Rossoneri suffer.

“In this Milan there is no real leader who can make the leap in mentality. They had a bigger advantage over fourth in the standings, now it is only six points,” he said (via PianetaMilan).

“They must continue to play for Milan. In Serie A they must never give up, it’s too competitive a league.”
