CorSport: Cagliari register interest in signing Milan goalkeeper in January

By Oliver Fisher -

Cagliari are interested in signing Antonio Mirante and they are looking at potentially doing a deal this month, a report claims.

Milan made the decision to sign Mirante part way through last season when Mike Maignan sustained a wrist injury that needed surgery, thus bumping Ciprian Tatarusanu up to number one and not leaving an experienced deputy. Mirante’s deal was extended for the 2022-23 season, but he is yet to make a competitive appearance yet.

According to what is being reported by today’s edition of the Corriere dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), Cagliari have moved in the last few hours to express their interest in signing Mirante, who could be even further down Pioli’s hierarchies after Devis Vasquez’s arrival from Club Guarani.

The Sardinian club are also interested in Sirigu, but they could move for the experienced Mirante this month even if his contract runs until the end of the season when he would be available on a free.
