Capello urges Milan to sign Ibrahimovic: “He can make a difference”

Fabio Capello, the former AC Milan manager, spoke about the potential return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in an interview in today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via PianetaMilan.it).

In recent days, many rumours have suggested that the big Swede might end up back at the Rossoneri. The MLS commissioner, Don Garber, even stated that the striker is ‘being recruited by Milan’ (via ESPN).

However, the reports took a hit this morning as Corriere Della Sera revealed that Ibrahimovic has sold his house in Milan this week, for a total of €5m. In other words, he might not have a return to Italy on his mind after all.

In any case, Capello made it clear that the Swede still can make a difference for the San Siro, despite being 38-years-old. However, it remains to be seen if the club is on the same page, which doesn’t seem to be the case for the time being.

“It would be a nice signing, because Ibra won’t come back just to make it through the winter. In Italy, he can still make a difference. I know him well and I’m sure that if he returns to Serie A, he would work to be a protagonist,” Capello said in the interview.
