After last night’s defeat to Cagliari, AC Milan will make a number of changes and the responsibilities are being shared out.
Earlier today, it was reported that Massimo Calvelli and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were going to lead the searches for the new hires at Milan, with Giorgio Furlani, Igli Tare, Geoffrey Moncada and Massimiliano Allegri set to leave.

However, it appears that they – and whoever comes in – may not have the biggest say of them all.
Cardinale takes the lead
Indeed, MilanVibes confirms that Ibrahimovic and Calvelli will lead the searches for the aforementioned roles. Yet, the search for a new head coach or manager will be led by Gerry Cardinale, the owner of the club.
In the report, it is suggested that he has taken on the role of the CEO for now and will look to hire a new number one, as is relayed from Cronache di Spogliatoio. He personally wants to get this decision right and his first choice would be Antonio Conte.
The Italian is leaving Napoli this summer and he would be seen as a ‘definitive’ option to lead the Diavolo forward, due to his ‘responsibility and capable of instilling charisma, order, and internal organization in his teams’.
Whether it will allow the club to take the next step forward will be seen.

Conte is not a quick fix for the problems we have, Gerry is opening himself up to massive scrutiny if he’s going to try for Conte. Conte doesn’t bite his tongue like Max.
AC Milan’s revolution: Allegri, Tare, and Furlani nearing departure. Ibra and Calvelli are already searching for a new CEO and sporting director.
by Enrico Ferrazzi
The new AC Milan revolution has begun: Allegri, Tare, and Furlani are leaving. Ibra and Calvelli are searching for a new CEO and sporting director.
After failing to qualify for the Champions League, these are very tense hours at the Rossoneri, where yet another shakeup has begun , affecting both the management and coaching staff of AC Milan . Gerry Cardinale did not return to London, but remained in Milan to continue his reflections on the future of the club and to continue talks regarding the reorganization of the club on Via Aldo Rossi. After such a failure, it would have been right to call a press conference to clarify the situation, but the Rossoneri owner preferred to meet only with a small group of journalists in a hotel in central Milan. Massimo Calvelli, a member of the AC Milan board of directors and director of RedBird, was also present.
ALLEGRI, TARE AND FURLANI ARE LEAVING
There will be several changes at AC Milan: as predicted for a few days now, CEO Giorgio Furlani is leaving , having been absent from the hotel where Cardinale is staying today but is at Casa Milan. Without the Champions League, sporting director Igli Tare and coach Massimiliano Allegri are also leaving, having failed to achieve the goal the club had set last summer. As for the Livorno-born coach’s departure, Max doesn’t appear to be willing to resign, and there doesn’t appear to be any room for negotiating a severance package (he still has one year left on his contract and is seeking the €5.2 million he’s owed).
IBRA AND CALVELLI SEARCH FOR A NEW CEO AND SPORTS DIRECTOR
In the revolution Cardinale envisions, both Massimo Calvelli , a member of the AC Milan board of directors and a director of RedBird, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic , Senior Advisor to the American fund, will play a central role. The former ATP CEO will choose the new CEO who will replace Furlani, while the Swede will decide who will replace Tare as AC Milan’s new sporting director . The new Rossoneri revolution has begun, hoping it can finally bring the Red and Blacks back to where they deserve to be.
IMAGINE THIS S*ITSHOW, ibra to CHOOSE THE SD!
Conte….. I give up. I’m done. This is like the NFL where the continue to recycle managers.
Som han skulle vilja styras av Znackpåsen Zlatan och Anale?
Maldini and Galliani in
Ibra, Furlani Tare, Moncada out
Sack allegri. And bring Conte or Simone Inzaghi or Pep….
Ibra never agreed with the way Allegri was using the players and the palyong style. That’swhy there were arguments between Ibra and Allegri.
This chaos is all on Allegri. Leao complained, Pulisic and all the other players were complaining about his style of play. He kept using 3-5-2 while every football specialists had doubts on how it would work with Milan, and yet his stubbornness blinded him from learning. Yesterday was a shame
That was their last game that should’ve been like a finale you played against a bottom team to save the whole season. Looking at the game, Cagliary were teaching Allegri how to play, and he still kept his best players on the bench waiting for a last minute miracle.
100%
Conte is a BIG FAT NO NO as MILAN should aim higher than the Serie A title.
Conte is expensive and is committed for a short term project.
AC Milan belongs to a bigger project , the Champions League Project .
AC Milan should be where they should be, the GIANTS of Europe .
AC Milan needs Paolo Maldini back , Galliani and a professional coach like Pep Guardiola or Carlo Ancellotti
Conte? Really? I can not see Conte coming if we have almost no transfer budget. Whenever Conte comes he asks for certain players, and if does not get them, he leaves. We have no transfer budget to give Conte anyone serious. We need a coach who is good with developing young players, as we are not getting top-level players this mercacto.
Replace Allegri with Allegri who went to Turkey and got a hair transplant.
Conte’s Napoli scored 58 goals this season, they scored 59 last season. Milan scored 53 goals this season without a striker. Conte had strikers.
Be bold and hire a young coach who will play progressive attacking football and can also set up defense. Fabregas had Como with the 2nd best attack in serie A and the best defense in serie A. You are not getting him, but you need to search for someone like him. Enough recycling the same dinosaur coaches.
Success hinges on whether the change is structural (a clear transition strategy, a clear separation between sporting and commercial functions) or personal (merely a change of names).
Milan needs stability for at least three seasons to compete at the top. Without a professional sporting director, a modern coach, and a sustainable financial model, this change will simply be another cycle of instability. The true result will be seen in the 2026/27 season and the club position in the summer transfer market.
We can see that is not the case assuming reports to be accurate.
Ibra (football side) picking the new CEO (money side) – ????
Cardinale (money side) picking the new coach (football side) – ????
Ibra and Calvelli picking the SD independent of the coach. ?????
They have separated what should be thought of as a package ( SD and coach) while placing the experience for sport side and money side on the wrong sides of the org.
If the report is true then I will have to buy red and black striped clown shoes. I won’t need face paint because I’ll have sad face without it.
Hoping the report is wrong.
Ibra is clearly a poison at this point. The stunt of sharing Allegri evals before the end of the season with players was bush league sabotage.
Going from 25 unbeaten to worse than Lecce in our last 5 (10 really) indicates an environment where the players do not feel they have any control of their destiny. This means that the rot is far deeper than that one know action by Ibra.
Players like Pulisic, Rabiot, Modric are professionals. For their level to drop as it has is more than Allegri’s negative football.
Gerry needs to put Ibra in a room with a button and tell him to push it every 5 minutes. The button need not actually be hooked up to anything.
Yes, I figured you’d talk to the bot. 😂😂😂
You and Jose. The special ones.
Hope you get out of your mom’s basement one day to see there are things in the world like … Woman, art etc.
Sell everybody and get a progressive coach to get the team to play progressive football
Napoli sack Conte and want Allegri
Milan sack Allegri and want Conte
Madness
Summer 2025 was the breaking point. We had to hire a young hungry coach that employs contemporary tactics. Maresca, Farioli, de Zerbi and Alonso were all there for the taking. We chose Allegri and played god awful football that failed in the end. Now we’re going to chose Conte who is marginally better. Alas, Conte has show SOME tactical flexibility, where Allegri has shown zero. But if we’re going to choose another dinosaur, I think I’d rather take a chance on Spalletti (if he leaves Juventus), Mancini or Sarri, as at least they don’t park the bus. Maybe we should take a chance on someone Grosso or Palladino. We don’t have much to lose at this point TBH, particularly if most of our “stars” are going to leave.
They regressed to Allegri after all their primary candidates faded away. Allegri was supposed to represent a sure thing, but not even he could get the best out of this bunch at Milan…
So naturally out of panic, instead of trying to put a strategy into place and try to properly rebuild, they are after Conte …
100%.
Given that Milan’s collapse reduced $80m-100m reduction in expected ’26-’27 revenues, Milan must once again rely on
1. the goodwill of their still-large fan base to fund another non-CL football year, and
2. selling off much of their talent.
Signing any decent EPL player won’t be possible until a new coach is signed.
No farm system – There doesn’t seem to be any active process for identifying and developing talent – necessary when you don’t have the funds to make $40m+ signings.
Leao, Gimenez, and some combination of Bartesaghi and Pavlo are likely gone. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Pulisic transferred to Liverpool or Tottenham (which survived relegation). Leao and Pulisic should command $80m+.
Pulisic won’t go to Tottenham, at least with ACM there is the Europa league. But with Conte, he leaves to go somewhere. We’ll see if Leao lands at ManUtd. I doubt it because they require their wingers to play defense. If he goes at a cut rate it may happen, then he can be a sub if they fall behind. I don’t think Bartesaghi will get much. I don’t believe he is as good as fans make him out to be. Good attacking wingers will eat him alive. He maybe considered a project and see how he matures.
Leao and Pulisic will get you 80m combined.
Maybe. Other teams are going to smell blood. 80 ml in Euros if they’re lucky. 70-75 is my guess. But, close enough. Also, I thought Conte was going to be the next National team manager.
As long he is not next Milan coach he can go and be next coach or manager wherever he wants
I think it’s more likely Pulisic goes to Man U than Leao for the reason Jim listed. I’m pretty sure he never signed a contract extension is because he wanted to ensure CL football and to possibly have control of his career for once.
Baseless rumour.
Ted Lasso?
How about sell everyone and buy all the Como-players and Fabregas? Imagine all the profit we’d get from selling our overpriced superstars and replacing them with “proven champions” from MH’s favorite team. 😲
Goat farmer will choose the coach….?😂😂😂😂
At this point Redbird might as well get Ralf Rangnick. Get rid of everyone including Ibra and let Ralf Rangnick structure the sporting side of the club. He will hire Mathias Jaissle or Francesco Farioli or Italiano but he will make sure they have the right players for these coaches system.
Because if Milan is not going to spend over 200k to strengthen the squad then it’s pointless talking about coaches like Conte.
The summer mercato last season with Allegri was pure garbage. Conte will not go for that and if we can’t spend on quality then what’s the point in talking about Conte?
Mr Cardinale try and listen to Acmilan fans Napoli sack Conte due to incompetence and you want to bring Conte this is madness a coach that lack Europe experience please I’m fed up don’t give us Conte don’t make the matter worst please their coaches you are used to victory why not you give us Stefano Pioli, Vincenzo Italiano or Francisco farioli.
Conte will give Milan the Serie A Titel. He would give Dortmund the Bundesliga Title! Milan should Sell to the arabs
Jeez why the F##k do we keep recycling coaches in Italy?!?! This is insane. Be bold and go out there and hire a bold progressive coach that employs amazing progressive tactics. We will be patient with him. Stop with the Conte, Spalletti, Sarri and Allegri. These old heads are washed. It’s time to move on from them. If we hire Conte, I’m disconnecting my paramount + account for next season. SMDH
REVOLUSI TOTAL. GANTI SEMUANYA DARI KEPEMILIKAN SAMPAI PELATIH
I don’t like Conte. He’s just another “Allegri”
Please invite a young coach with new ideas, ambitions and smaller ego. We are absolutely okay to make mistakes and lose some games and wait another year or two for scudetto as long as we see that we are progressing, playing beautiful football, and growing as a team with our academy players getting their chances to perform. All our problems happen because we are rushing somewhere in panic, chasing some fantastic expectations and goals. Stop inviting outdated scandalous managers who only care about giving interviews.
Hiring conte, who is a 1 year coach and not known for building a team for the future, is a big mistake. That shows that we still don’t have a long term plan. Just a quick patch and hopefully works. Even that, like conte would ever work for a completely chaotic management.
Unless the idea is to sell a reality show to Netflix, they’re going to hire a coach who can’t stop complaining after firing two coaches last season who… could not stop complaining! Oh, and Conte and Ibrahimovic at the same club, I’m sure they will get on like a house on fire! Gerry needs to leave the sporting decisions to the next SD.
If Cardinale chooses the next coach, then that’s it… AC Milan will be dead for another wasted year!!
Great. Another Italian dinosaur with his 3-5-2. Conte is just Allegri 2.0. But sure, keep doing the same misstake over and over again.
In Ibra We Trust
We need Jurgen klopp, please bring him to Italy.
No Klopp or I will hate Milan for ever and ever
Pep Guardiola is the right one
Pep Guardiola instead of Allegri
Get Paolo Maldini back
