MN: Celebrations then planning – Milan aiming to make at least five summer signings

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are still celebrating their Scudetto victory but there is already planning ongoing as to how to strengthen the squad further ahead of next season.

MilanNews writes that from today the management will begin thinking about the upcoming summer mercato and how to bolster the team ahead of a very important 2022-23 season where the objective has to be to defend the title and do better in Europe, both of which are not easy objectives.

“I’m enjoying and savouring all the emotions because they pass quickly in life. From tomorrow we will think about next season, talking with Maldini and Massara to understand where and how to be able to intervene,” is what Pioli said yesterday.

There needs to be an intervention in each department and the report mentions that there are five positions in particular that need filling: a central defender (Sven Botman of Lille is very close), an attacking midfielder (there is optimism regarding Renato Sanches), at least one striker (the first will be Divock Origi), a right winger plus another possible purchase.

To this the return of loanees like Yacine Adli and Tommaso Pobega must be factored in but there is a lot of work to do. The celebrations will go on, but also the discussions over the future too.

  1. Pls get Berardi n Sanchez….n kip pobegba, Adli, Salaemakers,Messias. Sell Ballo Toure n get Bolognas Belgian left hairy Defender. Get Bellotti 2

    1. Thoughts on loaning out salaemakers for him develop more under less pressure after we get berardi and ofc if we keep junior?

      1. If we get a new right winger, we already have Saalemakers as cover, and Florenzi can play there too. I dont see the point of signing Messias as well. Would rather use that transfer fee, around 5m i think, to offer a bit more in wages to Romagnioli and keep him.
