CF: How much reaching the Champions League last 16 would be worth to Milan

There is not just sporting pride on the line for AC Milan in tonight’s game against Red Bull Salzburg, as there is also a significant financial incentive too.

A sold out San Siro will witness arguably Milan’s most important European game in almost a decade as the Rossoneri welcome Salzburg knowing that they are in the driving seat to reach the last 16 of the UCL, needing a point to go through.

As reported by Calcio e Finanza, Milan would secure further important economic resources with a draw or a win, as getting through to the knockouts guarantees an extra €9.6m, as well as a greater share of the market pool.

Then there is the fact that the Rossoneri would play another home match which is worth €6-7m. In total, taking into account all the earnings such as participation bonus, historical ranking, market pool and bonus results, Milan’s revenues in the event of passing the group stage would be just under €60m.

    1. Hahaha, someone is bitter. Sometimes you have do do wrong to do right. I think Milan have done so many wrong aquisitions that sometime they will get it right. Both Baka and Maite have been poor mans Kessiés. It’s a tough role to fill. Not even Krunic can do it 😉 I have no idea who can actually. Do you?

  1. We wont see any of this invested in the squad anyway,it doesnt matter whether we qualify or not,let us just prepare ourselves for the upcoming banter era
