CIES: Milan the youngest team in Europe’s top five leagues by average age – all the numbers

AC Milan are by far the youngest team in Serie A in terms of average age, according to a study by the CIES Football Observatory.

CIES note (via MilanNews) that when taking into consideration the average age of the players that have played for Milan in the 2020-21 Serie A season so far, Milan have the youngest team in Europe’s ‘top five’ leagues in fact.

Nordsjælland are leading the way in all of Europe with an average age of 22.7 years old, but the Rossoneri are at just 24.5 years, despite the presence of a 39-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Monaco (24.7 years) and Reims (24.8) complete the podium, while the youngest team in the Bundesliga is Stuttgart (24.9 years), and for LaLiga there is Valencia (25.2) while in the Premier there it is Brighton & Hove Albion (25.3)
