CM: AC Milan begin talks with Raiola over extension for Romagnoli

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have begun talks with Mino Raiola over an extension for defender Alessio Romagnoli, according to the latest reports.

Alarm bells were raised when Sportmediaset (via Calciomercato.com) reported that Romagnoli had chosen to make Raiola his new agent after parting with Sergio Berti.

The report claimed that Raiola’s first move would be to open talks over extending Romagnoli’s deal with a salary higher than the €3.5m he currently makes (as per Gazzetta dello Sport).

However, there were also suggestions in that report that the Rossoneri captain could leave if the wage demands are not met.

According to an update from Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo on Twitter, talks have begun between the agent and the Milan leadership over exactly that.

The journalist claims that Raiola wants a higher salary for his new client, but that there will be new contacts in the coming months and that there is no rush at present to reach a conclusion.
