AC Milan have not given up on the idea of signing Marco Asensio and they have made a fresh attempt to try and land him, a report claims.
A report from Calciomercato.com confirms the information relayed by Corriere dello Sport this morning stating that there has been a phone call from Paolo Maldini to Carlo Ancelotti to ask for information on the Spanish winger, and the latter gave the former permission to speak to the player.
The possibility of concluding a deal for Asensio currently remains ‘difficult but not impossible’ and in the next few days Maldini could present an offer not too far from the €7m net per season that the player wants.
The 26-year-old playmaker considers Milan to be a very interesting and high level opportunity, and his new agent Jorge Mendes has other talks on with the Rossoneri management such as Rafael Leao’s renewal and the Renato Sanches deal.
The parties are in contact to understand if it is possible to enter an operational phase of the negotiation with the assumption being that Real Madrid’s asking price starts at €40m.
Not given up on Asensio, not given up on Botman…same old story…It all comes down to : No money, no honey.
Redbird doesn’t seem keen on injecting a significant amount of money into transfer market targets…
Clearly Maldini and Masara have already found the targets for this transfer window…the delay is all about Redbird flowing in cash.
Only a good thing they’re not splashing out the money on Botman & Asensio. Way too pricey players while better ones are available for less money.
Oh my god! Once again does it have to spelled out for you? You can not inject cash, FFP rules apply.
Why is almost everyone who comments here so ignorant of financial rules and how transfers that place?
How about signing him and Gareth Bale together? Given the strong relationship with Ancelotti I think we can sign Asensio for as little as 15 million.
