Samuel Chukwueze

CM: Chukwueze involved in Villarreal friendly despite Milan interest

Villarreal have surprised AC Milan by using Samu Chukwueze in a pre-season friendly despite him previously not being named in the travelling squad.

As pointed out by Calciomercato.com, Chukwueze was not named in the Villarreal squad that travelled to Switzerland for the camp between July 13 and July 21, but that situation has changed.

Quique Setien chose to use both Chukwueze and Arnaut Danjuma in the friendly against St Gallen. It was a wise decision as Chukwueze scored after just half an hour.

This move suggests that Chukwueze could be remaining open to the idea of staying at Villarreal, despite the serious interest from Milan.

Despite having signed Christian Pulisic from Chelsea, Milan remain open to the idea of signing the Nigerian winger as well. That would likely mean needing to sell both Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers.

There is interest in Messias from Torino but it is not clear where Saelemaekers could move.

      1. I agree with you 100%
Just imagine the firepower Milan would have with Leao – Theo left flank Chukwueze – Captain America right flank and Giroud up center and the support of Loftus and Tijjani.
There’s no way Inter will grab a single point from us all year round.

    1. I feel so. Milan probably haven’t contacted them for a few days so not using the player despite that would make them look like been kept to wait for and by Milan.

  1. He scored a goal on the end of a through pass after making a nice run and had clever finish, rounding the keeper after a step over. He did go down with a knock on his foot at one point but did return to the game. Overall he really had very little involvement in the game outside the one action and Villarreal looked terrible as a team. Just a preseason friendly though so it could be totally meaningless.

  2. I’m almost certain that we won’t be able to come to an agreement with the Spanish! Only if we sell CDK and bring the offer closer to those 35 million. It’s one thing to dream, and the other is reality..

  3. From business point of view, how the hell do you expect a club to pay 35ml for a good RW (not the very best may I add) that has 1 year left on his contract? We will get him for peanut at winter window.

  4. At this point, I’d say maybe talk with his agent and see if he’d want to just get a deal made to sign for free next year. That would either guarantee him down the road or force Villareals hand

  5. I have a feeling that Milan didn’t even submit any serious deal but using media chaos. This sempremilan moderator is also the same as Curva Sud, financed by Cardinale board.
If you want to know reality about Milan mercato, just check 3rd party neutral sites.

There is no information about Milan submitting a bid to chukwuaze other than sempremilan.com

    1. Lol what are you even talking about? Plenty of other sites covered this story. “3rd party neutral sites”. Also this site, just posts articles from other sites.

  6. For the first time I’m agreeing with Milan’s management, 30+ mil for a player that have one year left of his contract is way too much. Just agree the terms with the player and get him for free next summer
