CM: Correa’s agent changes plans; crucial talks scheduled with Atletico

By Oliver Fisher -

Angel Correa’s agent has been forced to change his plans amid reports he was due in Italy on Wednesday to talk with AC Milan.

On Tuesday we exclusively reported that Correa is continuing to wait for Milan, and that his representative was due to fly in for talks with the Rossoneri.

Correa appears to be the only major target for the club at this point, with personal terms already agreed between Milan and the player, but some distance remaining between offer (€40m) and valuation (€50m).

Calciomercato.com however are reporting that Augustin Jimenez – Correa’s agent – did not arrive in Milano due to a change in approach.

They claim that there were talks on the phone, during which Paolo Maldini made it clear that the offer would not be raised due to the fact the agreement is already there with the player.

Correa’s agent isntead chose to fly to Madrid instead and will meet with Atletico on Thursday and Friday – during which he will ask their management for the price tag to be lowered.

Correa has a good relationship with Los Rojiblancos though so a transfer request is unlikely, while Diego Simeone ‘keeps telling him that he would gladly keep him’.

As of now, Atletico sporting director Andrea Berta’s stance is clear: €50million or Correa remains. Milan, though, are hoping their patience prevails.
