Just as Charles De Ketelaere seemed to be ready to head to join Atalanta, a slowdown in the negotiations between his entourage and the Bergamo club has emerged.

As Calciomercato.com report, Milan and Atalanta reached an agreement over De Ketelaere’s transfer on the basis of an initial €3m loan with a €23m option to buy plus €4m in potential bonuses.
Gian Piero Gasperini wants the Belgian who finally opened up to the idea of leaving Milan after one season, but now some issues have emerged regarding personal terms which must be rectified.
First of all the commissions requested by De Ketelaere and his entourage are high, while the player would like higher salary than the current one he earns – which is €2.2m net per season – in the event Atalanta sign him permanently.
The negotiations did not blow up completely but after a day of further contacts (and in which the player also missed the 1-0 friendly loss against Trento, training alone) great pessimism still filters through.
Milan expected to sell De Ketelaere to lower wages and save around €2.9m gross, now they risk getting him back and Pioli has made it clear he does not see him as a part of his plans.
Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani would thus be forced to find the 22-year-old some accommodation by 1 September.
