CM: Future of €30m Roma winger still to be decided but Milan’s stance has changed

By Oliver Fisher -

The future of Roma winger Cengiz Under is ‘still to be written’, a report claims, but AC Milan’s stance on him has changed since January.

The Turkey international was heavily linked with a move to the Rossoneri during the January transfer window when Suso’s departure became almost certain, and we reported that at one stage a loan swap involving the duo was actually being considered.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Under is reaching a crossroads regarding his future. He arrived three years ago for a fee of €13.4million plus bonuses, and Roma are convinced that they can raise €30m from his sale if he performs well between now and the end of the season – whenever that may be.

Head coach Paulo Fonseca will also have a say on what happens with Under, while Milan’s position has changed over the weeks. For the Rossoneri, the 22-year-old arose as an idea late in January following talks between the now departed Zvonimir Boban and the player’s agent Ramadani.

Under wanted to join Milan and the Rossoneri were ready to negotiate, but Roma stopped everything due to Nicolò Zaniolo’s injury. Now, the winger is not one of Milan’s priorities for next season.
