The Mehdi Taremi deal has been off and on more than the lights at San Siro, but there could be yet another twist in the tale.

A wide range have sources have claimed this afternoon that the deal is off due to requests from the player and his entourage. However, intermediaries of Taremi are present at the Casa Milan headquarters at the moment.

Calciomercato.com confirm that it is a new meeting with the Rossoneri management to try to get the deal back on the right track.

  1. Why? I am disappointed we have not pursued Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla who is a better and younger striker. Sigh 🙁

  2. must be back on given Romano is reporting Colombo on the verge of joining Monza.

don’t see us giving up Colombo without another attacker in the bag.

  3. I say Furlani tells Taremi’s entourage to F8ck off for trying to change terms and get paid last minute. Let’s take our chances until the winter.

  4. They overplayed the hands and now that the bluff had been called, they came crawling back to beg for mercy.

Please avoid. Taremi is a good striker but this isn’t worth it.

    1. Missing out on UCL knock out stages will be more costly than paying Taremi or his agents an extra 5M or whatever in commissions….

Think logically. We waited TOO LONG to address this hole in our lineup. that is our fault. Now is not the time to be righteous or frugal. Now is the time to get the deal done because if we don’t UCL knock out it’s at serious risk and with it 40M in extra money gone with it….

  5. our lineup now, not even worried if we dont get taremi. if they want drama they can take it to another club.

although, i do think 1.5m for striker is tad bit cheap

    1. yeah just googled he earned 1.5m-1.8m his whole life never an increase. no wonder. but since the player want to push the move, the agent has no choice but to negotiate or get fired.

  6. If they’re asking double than what they agreed on, I hope furlani tells them where to go. Standing our ground shows not to mess with us. If the deal goes through for roughly the numbers agreed then good. If not, look elsewhere. If nobody arrives then we should be ok as we are until January.

  7. I think they’ve reached an agreement because Romano reported Colombo is on his way to monza. Do in order for that to happen,, you’d think a striker has come in..

  8. Just wait until the winter. We missed on the perfect striker for Pioli Scamacca. Now better just wait. All the good strikers are gone right now. Play Okafor or Origi as a back up until then. Who ever performs better. Or keep Colombo and really give him a chance to develop. Not just 5min at the end of the game once in every 15 games.

  9. Wanted to suggest Mikautadze but it seems like he’s been signed by Ajax already. I enjoyed his YouTube compilation.

  10. Taremi is worth it, and Milan needs a backup striker. That’s why they are setting up another meeting. I see this going through. All the parties involved would have to shift ground. I say, ‘Welcome, Taremi’. This is the complete end to our summer mercato this year. This will bring out the best in Giroud, which, is a good thing for us.

  11. Signing Taremi will be great cos we have champion league to play and Italian Cup so we more experienced player as a backup welcome Taremi

  12. Reports just said the reason the deal is off is because we offered Taremi a salary of 1.5M???? LOLOLOLO. IF and I said IF that is true then we are the ones to blame. Period. If it’s Mendez trying to extort us then ya I get it – BUT IF we only offered him the same salary he is already making he would be dumb to take it and would be better off to just wait to become a FA and test the open market. We pay Caldara 2M season and we aren’t willing to pay a player who’s cored 80 goals over the last 3 seasons more than 1.5M??? Insane

    Columbo is gone to Monza.

So we have only Giroud as a #9 as Origi is out of the team and Okafor is a natural LW

    What a disaster.

    1. Yep , we pay origi 4m euro nett even if he only score very few with liverpool and we offer taremi 1,5m euro nett. I wont blame taremi if he reject that offer, at least make his salary near origi . Imagine pay origi 4m euro nett just for 2 goals last season

  13. We just got drawn into Group of Death and we now only have Giroud as a #9….

Unfortunately because we waited too long till end of market we are stuck. We should absolutely should pay and get Taremi. What are the alternatives? Go into UCL against PSG, Dortmund, Newcastle and the season with just Giroud? Try and bring Origi back into the team? Rely on Okafor as our #9 even though everyone including Pioli and management and the player himself said he’s a LW? Play Pulisic as a false 9 against all those teams and despite elnever having tied during preseason??

Because we waited we are stuck. One injury to Giroud or just plain fatigue at 37 and we are in serious trouble.

NOT making it to the knock out stages of UCL is worse financially then paying extra 5M in commission fees to Taremi’s agents OR giving him a reasonable salary of 3M .

Now is NOT the time to be frugal. We waited too long for that and are now screwed.

    1. But the group stage also means that there’s a very good chance of being knocked out even if we have another top striker. So maybe it makes a lot of sense to be frugal.

I’m playing devil’s advocate there – even if knocked out, it’s critical to qualify again for next year. But we don’t know what’s been budgeted for.
